Will you be visiting Santa Fe, NM? There are so many amazing things to see in the city, from historical landmarks, top-notch restaurants, and an offering of art galleries that make Santa Fe one of the top art destinations in the country.
I am pleased to share that my art is represented by one of those galleries, Sorrel Sky. So when you come to our beautiful town, take a short walk just down the street from The Palace of the Governors to visit the gallery and view some of my latest works!
I’ve realized it’s been a while since I posted anything on this blog and it’s time to visit again!! I have been enjoying spending a lot of my time in Santa Fe, where having horses in the high desert has proven to be a wonderful thing. Not to mention painting in the amazing lighting, at this altitude, has been a welcome venture!
I’ve produced several watercolors for 2015 as well as a couple oils, one of which I’m sharing with you. The subject of this painting came to mind when I thought back on my younger days and having to haul a saddle out to my horse to go ride every day. Here in this painting I’m showing a 1960 Chevy Apache truck, with my saddle thrown over the side. The blanket underneath is a Navajo pattern. Tied to the back is an American Quarter Horse, representing muscle – just like that workhorse truck. The setting is beneath the Sangre de Cristo mountains where lighting blankets everything.
“Plenty of Horsepower”, an 21 x 34 oil on canvas, gallery wrap style- where the truck wraps around the side of the canvas.
See ya next time-

Yesterday, after waking to find that Facebook had pulled the cover pic off of my Facebook page, and left me with a pop up “info” sign, I am encouraging folks who want to keep up with my studio news to please subscribe to my blog (sign up on side bar) or newsletter, link here: http://tamararymer.com/events.html.
What was the pop up? Wish I had made a screen pic of it, but it told me that I couldn’t have text or advertise. The text in the pic, was my copyright over part of my picture, that was it. So please keep up with me, by signing up via blog or newsletter. The blog will put a post in your mailbox only occasionally, the newsletter about once a quarter.
Here’s my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/tamararymer, the current cover pic at the top shows another copyright on it- same as previous pic.
When visiting Santa Fe, New Mexico don’t miss a stroll up to 802 Canyon Road! Michael Henington Fine Art has recently moved to that location, and the gallery is a must see!! Be sure to tell them that Tamara sent you and they can show you my work!
